Here are some samples of the many lighting projects that NLT Group has completed.

Mississauga Executive Centre

Mississauga Executive Centre
  • A 4-building, 64-floor commercial facility, built between 1978 and 1990. Over 1,000,000 square feet with more than 25,000 outdated fluorescent light fixtures.
  • NLT Group retrofitted the existing light fixtures using energy efficient T8 electronic ballasts, T8 fluorescent lamps and high efficiency interior reflectors. The project began in Fall 2002, was completed in early 2003 and progressed at 1 floor per day.
  • The annual energy savings were approximately 6 million kilowatt-hours or a dollar savings of approximately $560,000. Payback was in 2 years with a simple ROI of about 50%.
  • In addition, sulphur dioxide emission was reduced by 12 tons annually and carbon dioxide by 2,500 tons (both chemicals contribute to acid rain and global warming).
  • The old T12 lamps, ballasts and steel were recycled for mercury, metals and glass containment.

Atria I, II, III Complex

  • A 3-building, 40-floor commercial facility, built between 1978 and 1987. 900,000 square feet with more than 15,000 outdated fluorescent light fixtures.
  • NLT Group retrofitted the existing light fixtures using energy efficient T8 electronic ballasts and T8 fluorescent lamps. The project began in Summer 2006, was completed in Fall 2006 and progressed at 1 floor per day.
  • The annual energy savings were approximately 3.6 million kilowatt-hours or a dollar savings of approximately $400,000. Payback was in 2 years with a simple ROI of about 50%.
  • In addition, sulphur dioxide emission was reduced by 7.2 tons annually and carbon dioxide by 1,500 tons (both chemicals contribute to acid rain and global warming).
  • The old T12 lamps, ballasts and steel were recycled for mercury, metals and glass containment.

Simcoe Place

Simcoe Place
  • A 1-building, 40-floor commercial facility, opened in 1995. Approximately 750,000 square feet with over 10,500 T8 fluorescent light fixtures.
  • NLT Group re-lamped the existing light fixtures using energy efficient 25-watt T8 fluorescent lamps, and washed and relamped the existing fixture interiors and lenses. The project began in Fall 2003, was completed in Winter 2003 and progressed at 1 floor per day.
  • The annual energy savings were approximately 400,000 kilowatt-hours or a dollar savings of approximately $31,000. Payback on the incremental investment was in 7 months with a simple ROI on the incremental investment of about 172%.
  • In addition, sulphur dioxide emission was reduced by 1.5 tons annually and carbon dioxide by 315 tons (both chemicals contribute to acid rain and global warming).
  • The old T8 lamps were recycled for mercury, metals and glass containment.
